He holds the position of Deputy State Secretary for Information and Communication Technologies at the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development of the Republic of Latvia. In this role, he carries responsibility of defining ICT and E-Government policy, strategy and implementation plans for the government of Latvia.
Previously Beļskis held the positions of Director of Communications Department at the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Latvia for 6 years and he was Director of Department of Entrepreneurship Competitiveness at the Ministry of Economics of the Republic of Latvia for 8 years. He also was Director, coordinator of international projects of State agency “Latvian National Accreditation Bureau”.
Edmunds Beļskis was born in Riga in 1972. He has received the degree of Master of Public Administration at the Faculty of Economics and Management of the University of Latvia and the degree of the Master of Mechanical Engineering in the Field of Quality Assurance and Management at the Technical University, Faculty of Engineering. He has graduated the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Automation.
