Christine Kirkpatrick, is the division director for Research Data at the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) at the University of California San Diego, and the Executive Director of the National Data Service (NDS), a U.S. initiative focused on how scientists and researchers across all disciplines can find, reuse, and publish data. Christine hosts the first US GO FAIR coordination office at SDSC, dedicated to bridging the gap in data stewards through training and tools that enable data to be born FAIR (Findable Accessible Interoperable Reusable). Kirkpatrick is also Deputy Director and co-PI for the National Science Foundation-funded West Big Data Innovation Hub. Christine serves on the Technical Advisory Board for the Research Data Alliance (RDA), the External Advisory Boards for the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC-Hub) and EOSC-Nordic. She co-chaired the Women in Data Science & Engineering Workshop at the 2017 IEEE International Conference on Data Engineering.
