50 data-centric European SMEs and startups will be chosen in
2019 to grow their companies by benefiting from free support services
Next May 27th will close the first call of the Data Market Services initiative, a European programme emerged with the aim of supporting a generation of data-centric SMEs and Startups based in Europe by giving them access to free services.
Among all the companies that will apply to the accelerator, only 50 will be chosen to enjoy a breakthrough process of business acceleration during the next 6 months, starting in June. The accelerator – that will have 3 editions: 2019, 2020, 2021 – will put at the disposal of the selected SMEs and Startups a set of services aimed at overcoming the barriers they face when growing their businesses.
The support that the selected companies will receive, will essentially be based on 5 main categories: fundraising: public fundraising and venture capital match-making; acceleration: entrepreneurial trainings, acceleration and incubation mobility programme and mentoring; legal standards: IPR for entrepreneurs, GDPR training and standards awareness; data skills: Data Science Academy and trust building tools; promotion: marketing for startups and sponsorship in European data-related and technology events.
Furthermore, thanks to the services provided in the categories of fundraising and acceleration, the consortium will work to facilitate the achievement of getting new rounds of private capital reaching €5,000,000; additional public funds reaching €1,000,000, and increasing the startups and SMEs capacity of sales by at least 20%.
The programme is carried out by a European Consortium led by ZABALA Innovation Consulting that will be in charge of the planning and execution of the services with the collaboration of different partners: Univ. Southampton, owner of their data science academy and leading ODINE and Data Pitch. Private accelerators/incubators like Spinlab (DE), Spherik (RO), Bright Pixel (PT) to assure presence in all corners of EU. Ogilvy as an expert on communication, currently in charge of FIWARE and BDV PPP comms. IPTector as IPR expert. TNW as the owner of our flagship event and the tq.co incubator; and W3C (through ERCIM in France) as a principal standards body.
Applications can be submitted by any European data-centric SME and Startups via index.co. The deadline to submissions is May 27th, 2019.
