The H2020 project European Data Incubator (EDI) has received 277 expressions of interest and 121 proposal submissions in its first Open Call. In total, 30 Big Data startups and SMEs have been selected for the EXPLORE phase and will be gathering in October at a Datathon in Berlin. Each team will receive access to a free Cloud environment for scalable data processing, data to solve actual challenges from the data providers they have chosen, free business support and €5,000 (equity free). In the upcoming phases, EXPERIMENT and EVOLVE, selected startups can earn up to €100,000 equity free funding while developing independent data solutions and boosting their growth. EDI is a Big Data incubator offering a dedicated acceleration programme for EU based startups and teams. For more information, please visit their website or stay tuned on Twitter.
