The use of data is essential for better, personalized health care. But personal data cannot simply be shared. This is a dilemma: on the one hand, using as much data as possible for new insights, and on the other hand, data minimization for the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance.
The Heart Failure pilot within BigMedilytics has found the potential solution to this challenge. In July 2020, in collaboration with Erasmus MC, Zilveren Kruis and ZorgTTP, TNO demonstrated that it is possible to securely link and analyze personal data from multiple organizations.
