The solutions that the project is developing for maritime scenarios have been presented during EMODnet Open Sea Lab, a three-day bootcamp & hackathon where teams competed to develop novel applications using marine open data. More info here.
From 11th to 14th of Dec. 2017 BigDataOcean partners attended the IEEE Big Data conference in Boston and present their recent achievements on knowledge extraction from maritime spatiotemporal data. This work has been accepted for publication and demonstrates an evaluation of clustering algorithms on Big Data.
On 12th and 13th of Dec., in the context of The Annual Meeting of Marine Technology, the latest developments and activities of BigDataOcean were promoted by MarineTraffic describing the BigDataOcean platform services as well as the project’s pilots. The project has been also promoted through its booth at the Maritime Technology Exhibition. More info here.
The 23rd BDVA Activity Group Meeting has been held on the 13th and 14th of December in Brussels.
Over 70 participants from BDVA Members discussed and brainstormed about key topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Platforms, Big Data Technologies, GDPR implementation, Data Privacy, Technology integration (Big Data, HPC, IoT), Mobility and Transport, Big Data in the GeoSpatial and Earth Observation domain.
The next Activity Group meeting is scheduled on the 31st January (afternoon only) and 1st February 2018.
