The BDVA has co-organized, together with the European Commission and the Austrian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the European Big Data Value Forum 2018 (Vienna, 12-14th November), an event that has brought together more than 600 industry professionals, business developers, researchers, and policymakers from 40 different countries, to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the data-driven and AI-based innovations in Europe.
The BDV PPP has contributed actively to the success of this edition of the EBDVF18. The BDVA has been part of the chair committee, the steering committee, the programme committee, and the communication group.
The BDV PPP has been Diamond Sponsor of the event, with its own BDV PPP Village exhibition space in the main conference hall.
Additionally, the BDV PPP / BDVA has organized the workshops during the 3rd day of the event, with the objective of opening up BDVA and BDV PPP activities to all stakeholders and citizens interested in contributing to the European Big Data Value Ecosystem, and where many of the projects of the PPP have participated.


ICT 2018, co-organized by the European Commission and the Austrian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, took place in Vienna on 4-6 December 2018. This research and innovation event focused on the European Union’s priorities in the digital transformation of society and industry. It presented an opportunity for the people involved in this transformation to share their experience and vision of Europe in the digital age.
The BDV PPP was present at the exhibition area with its own stand, where the BDVA and all projects were represented, explaining their achievements and showcasing results. The BDV PPP also organized five successful networking sessions, in collaboration with other PPPs, other initiatives and some of the PPP projects, and where inspiring and relevant feedback was provided by the participants.
The BDVA signed a MoU with euRobotics association, with the goal of increasing collaboration to boost AI progress in Europe, and with ETP4HPC, to join forces in shaping the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking.
