The Conference on “Data Sharing between companies in Europe – results from a study by the European Commission and way forward” will be held on the 12th of January 2018 in Brussels. It is aimed at presenting the main findings of the ‘Study on B2B data sharing in Europe’ commissioned by the European Commission, DG CONNECT.

The study has been launched in July 2017 in order to assess the quantitative dimension of data sharing and re-use between companies, identify missed business opportunities resulting from the lack of access to relevant data, and determine obstacles to and success factors for data sharing and re-use between companies in Europe. The 23rd BDVA Activity Group Meeting has been held on the 13th and 14th of December in Brussels.

Over 70 participants from BDVA Members discussed and brainstormed about key topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Platforms, Big Data Technologies, GDPR implementation, Data Privacy, Technology integration (Big Data, HPC, IoT), Mobility and Transport, Big Data in the GeoSpatial and Earth Observation domain.

The next Activity Group meeting is scheduled on the 31st January (afternoon only) and 1st February 2018.
